My menses arrived this morning. To honour them I am wearing a red scarf, I bought red tulips and I will be taking things sloooooow today. Almost ten years ago I stopped taking the oral contraceptive pill thanks to an excellent book called: The Pill. Are you sure it's for you? One of the authors is the co-creator of @red.school I highly recommend you check it out. Being aware and in tune with your menstrual cycle can be incredibly empowering and useful. Instead of always pushing myself, these days I respect and lean into what I'm feeling/needing that day. I find taking some time out for myself when I need it, means I feel so much better and often more productive the next day. Keeping track of your cycle is SO easy these days. I use an app called @clueapp Do you keep track of your cycle? If so, what method do you use?
Every moon cycle I nurture a sacred womb rite that was passed down to me from a teacher. This monthly ritual is an opportunity for me to cleanse and empower my feminine energy, and make space in my body, emotions, & spirit for what I truly desire to feel & create in my life. As I offer my moon blood to the Earth as an act of sacred reciprocity, I say the words~ "I release my fear so I may embrace freedom. I release my pain so I may embrace joy. I release my anger so I may embrace compassion. I release my sadness so I may embrace peace." I have now been offering this prayer for 3 years, and it has supported me to release old lovers and patterns, heal sexual abuse, open to new love, birth my healing work into the world, and re-awaken my pleasure and sensuality. I give thanks for this feminine cycle and our capacity as women to rebirth into more embodied, true and radically honest versions of ourselves every month if we choose to work with the energies in this way.🔻 The Rite of the Womb is a transmission of energy that can be shared with other women once it is received. It is a beautiful gift to give to one another on this journey of remembering who we are, and how to feel nourished & alive in these feminine bodies.🔻 . . . . . . . . . . . #sacredcycle ...
Zoomate e leggete!
SKULLCAP!🌱💜I'm in the process of making my first relaxing skullcap tincture (2 more weeks of shaking), and the more info I find on this herb, the more excited I'm getting. I picked buds, flowers, and leaves from Ravencrest Botanical's herb garden (pictured here) with great care, learning that this plant improves blood flow to the brain and energetically helps quiet a chatty mind, making space for clear thoughts. I just read that it's been well known among the Cherokee and other First Nation tribes as a strong menstrual flow stimulator (or "emmenagogue"), and used by some tribes as a ceremonial plant to induct girls into womanhood. Looking forward to experiencing more of this female medicinal herb first hand and reporting back! Let me know if you've worked with her and what you've learned... 🌿👾
